At A Grade Therapy , our mission has always been to help our patients live healthier, fuller lives. By adding speech therapy to our offerings, we’re taking a significant step toward providing more comprehensive, whole-person care under one roof.
What Is Speech Therapy for Kids?
Speech therapy for children focuses on helping them develop clear speech, understand and use language effectively, and communicate with confidence. It can also help with feeding and swallowing difficulties in younger children.
Signs Your Child Might Benefit from Speech Therapy
Every child develops at their own pace, but certain signs may indicate that your child could benefit from an evaluation by a speech-language pathologist (SLP). Here are some things to look out for:
Have delayed speech development, such as not speaking clearly or forming simple sentences by age 2–3.
Struggle with pronunciation, making them hard to understand past age 3–4.
Have trouble understanding language, including difficulty following directions or naming objects.
Show social communication challenges, like avoiding interaction or misusing language in conversations.
Experience feeding or swallowing difficulties, including choking or gagging while eating.
