An occupational therapy evaluation considers your child’s strengths, current skills and the activities your family wants to make easier. Depending on the evaluation, goals may address:

  • Dressing, using utensils and other self-care routines.
  • Participation in activities involving different sensory experiences.
  • Coordination, attention and completing everyday tasks.

Practice in familiar settings

Our natural-environment model connects therapy with real routines. Depending on your child’s needs and available coverage, sessions may take place at home, daycare, an ABA center or another appropriate community setting. The team confirms the setting and any required permissions before scheduling.

Working with familiar materials helps caregivers connect therapy goals with daily life. Your therapist can discuss ways to support practice between visits within the treatment plan.
